My unexpected foray into conscious leadership began with a rocky start in healthcare management back in 2014, in Seattle. Thrust into a leadership role while still completing my healthcare administration degree, I found myself battling against an overwhelming tide of confusion and frustration. Despite my theoretical knowledge, the practical challenges of leadership left me constantly fire-fighting, filled with doubt, and endlessly seeking solutions through books, courses, and certifications.
Outwardly, I was the epitome of success—rising rapidly through the ranks, managing larger teams effectively, and achieving my goals. Yet inwardly, I was grappling with imposter syndrome, low self-esteem, fear, and negative self-talk which spilled over into my personal life. All this internal turmoil culminated in an explosive wake-up call during a team meeting where I completely lost composure—a stark contrast to my usual calm demeanor.
This defining moment forced me to confront my inner turmoil and propelled me on a profound self-awareness and leadership journey. Through dedicated self-discovery, I transitioned from a manager who merely looked the part to one who truly felt competent and inspired. I emerged as a leader people were drawn to, leading not just with authority but also with authenticity, transforming both my work environment and personal life.
